God created people to have a healthy family relationship with Him, but we have chosen to ignore and reject God in favor of controlling our own lives. God created us in love, and therefore made a commitment to do His utmost to reclaim us and build a family from all nations through faith in Jesus Christ. Long before we were born, Christ died for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins. Jesus was resurrected to life and so overcame the power of sin to control our lives. The Bible teaches that admission to God's family for eternity is available to all who believe because everyone matters to God (1 John 2:2).
The Holy Spirit is God’s presence in us. The Holy Spirit is our guide and counselor, directing us and helping us understand the Bible as we read about who we are, who Jesus is and why we need to repent of our sins and open the door of our lives to Christ. The Holy Spirit also directs our prayer lives and gives spiritual gifts to Christ followers.
One day Jesus will return to bring history on earth to a conclusion. That will begin our ongoing existence in heaven in the presence of God. In the meantime, our role is to live in friendship with God, sharing our faith with others, helping each other mature in faith and caring for others. The church is a group of people that believe in Jesus Christ and who are committed to honoring God and caring for others. Life transformation happens because Jesus is alive and the Spirit of God is living in us.
Our beliefs are based solely on the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired and is the final authority on all matters pertaining to life and faith. We believe that there is one God, eternally existing in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each being fully God.
As a believing community within the larger Christian church we adhere to the Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith and are a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church of British Columbia.
